Calling all EMDR Child Therapists!
Learn the healing powerhouse formula for kids and teens:
Expressive arts + Play Therapy + EMDR
Let’s make therapy fun again!
- As an EMDR child therapist, you know the power of play in therapy. It is the best way to get kids to say what they cannot say, process hard emotions, and build trust and rapport with you.
- Expressive Arts Therapy has an exceptional ability to tap into the creative brain and support processing of hard emotions and traumatic events. Expressive Arts Therapy has long been backed by science to be helpful for a wide range of clinical disorders including anxiety, and PTSD.
Now, my friends, here is where the fun comes in.
Incorporating Play Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy with EMDR is a healing powerhouse. Utilizing these clinical modalities with EMDR can support your clients healing process in profound ways.
But, as you know, there’s an art to it. There are clinical best practices to supporting your clients in their healing process and utilizing these modalities so they are helpful and effective.
I’m here to show you how.
I’m Nicole Symcox, a licensed psychotherapist and EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDR Consultant. For the last 15 years, I’ve dedicated my career to working with kids and teens. I started my career path as a pre-K teacher and behavior coach of young children under the age of six. And, let me tell you, I saw it ALL. Those experiences lead me to want to become a therapist and specialize in working with kids and teens. Having a creative and artistic brain myself, I chose to specialize in Expressive Arts Therapy in graduate school, as I knew it would the most helpful modality for working with kids. I wanted to give kids and teens a voice. And therapy is the best place for that voice to be found, healed, and expressed.
Utilizing my clinical experience, and expertise working with kids and teens, I’m offering The Powerhouse Formula, designed for Child Therapists to transform their client outcomes. In this consultation cohort, you can not only gain EMDRIA credits toward EMDR Certification, but you will also sharpen your clinical competency working with kids and teens using play therapy, art therapy, and EMDR. These modalities are equally effective for both kids and teens, so I invite clinicians who work with either or both.
What you’ll get with The Powerhouse Formula for Kids:
- A consultation cohort that meets twice a month for 60-minute sessions for 3 months
- Groups meet via Zoom with your peers to gain 6 hours towards EMDRIA Certification
- Learn from peer case presentations, learn how to give clinical feedback
- Feel confident to effectively work your minor clients’ parents in and out of EMDR sessions
